The NEW BMW X3 has been revealed!

On June 26, the brand new 2018 BMW X3 was unveiled at the BMW plant in Spartanburg, SC. The BMW X models are produced at the Spartanburg Plant, which is the largest global production facility in the BMW Group. Last year, 411,171 BMW X models were produced at the facility and approximately 70% of the vehicles were exported to 140 markets worldwide. That makes BMW the largest vehicle exporter in the United States by value. The BMW X3 was first produced in 2003 and it launched the premium compact SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle). Since then BMW has recorded more than 1.5 million vehicles worldwide and 378,803 in the United States alone. It was also announced that BMW added two trim levels for the new X3; the xDrive30i and M40i. We can’t wait to see the all-new BMW X3 with it’s striking new design, powerful drive systems and luxurious appeal.

In terms of exterior design, the all-new X3 is a boldly designed car that commands attention with its striking design. It has the perfect combination of a rugged off-road look with luxury features that we all love in the BMW X family. While the exterior dimensions of the all-new X3 look like they haven't changed, the wheelbase has been extended by 2.2-inches. It has finely balanced proportions that emphasize the perfect weight distribution between the front and rear axle. It looks sleek and elegant all while having the practical aspects of a SAV, the change in proportions also assisted in improving the overall aerodynamics. In the front of the new X3, the signature BMW kidney grille was updated with a three-dimensional design and the fog lights were updated with a hexagonal design that speaks to a new design language that revealed throughout the new model. Moving on towards the back of the car the tail light housing got a three-dimensional look with the optional Adaptive LED and Icon Adaptive Full LED Headlights, a downward-sloping roof spoiler and twin exhaust tailpipes give the X3 an updated sleek design. Plus, for the first time ever, there is a factory installed trailer hitch on the BMW X3.

The interior of the all-new X3 doesn’t disappoint. It follows the BMW tradition with it’s driver-focused and ergonomic cockpit that is focused on comfort. You’ll see many of the exterior features being carried over into the car’s interior. The hexagonal forms and precise, sloping edges play a part in creating a beautiful and luxurious SAV. The standard xLine design shows off the sportiness of the SAV and allows people to choose trim elements. For the first time ever, the Luxury Package is now available on an X3 model and offers chrome kidney grille bars, two-tone front and rear bumper trim finishers and a SensaTec upholstered dashboard. A new standard feature on the X3 is three-zone automatic climate controls, temperature controls were added to the back seat area so whoever is riding in the back of the X3 can adjust their own temperature. What is a new car without new technology options? Gesture controls are now an available option in the X3. With a simple finger or hand gesture, people are able to change the volume or perform other tasks through the 10.25-inch touchscreen all while keeping their eyes on the road.

We can’t wait to see this third generation BMW X3 in person and take it for a spin, especially the new trim levels. BMW is great at making something that we all love even better.
